Cancer Research UK: The annual Tough 10 Run: Help Beat Cancer Sooner event is again being held in Margam Park on October 14 at 11am. Check out: tinyurl.com/ margamparkrun2017 for entry information.
Entry is £25. Twinning Association: On Monday, September 25 there will be a joint social evening where members of Porthcawl San Sebastian Town Twining Association (SSTTA) will have the opportunity to meet members from Pencoed and their twinned town Plouzané.
The event will take place the same week as the European Day of Languages and there will be a quiz on the night.
The event will take place at the Bryncae Arms, Bryncae, CF72 9RP, from 7.30pm with guests arriving from 7pm.
There will be bread, cheese, butter and pickles at the event for a small charge of £3 per person.
Pencoed may also have some spare places at the official evening on Wednesday, 27 September 27.
This will be in Pencoed Miners’ Welfare Hall starting at 6.30pm.
There will be a hog roast followed by desserts.
There will also be entertainment by Penybont Folk Dancers. Tickets cost £10.

Porthcawl Lions: The car boot sale at Porthcawl RFC’s ground is coming to an end having been held every Sunday morning from 8am (weather permitting), at the Porthcawl Rugby Football Club grounds off South Road.

Porthcawl Male Voice Choir Celebrity Concert: This year the concert will be held in The Grand Pavilion on Saturday, September 30 and the guest celebrity will be Mike Doyle.
Tickets are available at the Grand Pavilion box office.
Table Top Sale: This is held every Friday in Griffin Park Hall in New Road from 8am12.30pm. Ty Hafan Rainbow Run: Anyone interested in entering the 2017 annual Ty Hafan 5k Rainbow Run can register online or on the day.
Registration will start at 11.30am on Saturday, October 7 in the Ty Hafan Event Village on the Promenade in front of the Coney Beach Amusement Park (CF36 5BT) in Porthcawl.
Anybody over the age of five can enter with a proviso that everyone under-16 has to be accompanied by an adult.
You can either register as an individual at a cost of £13 or as a group at a cost of £10 per person (five minimum).
The charity would like competitors to try and raise a minimum of £50 in sponsorship (£20 for under-16s) and everyone who raises the required amount will be entered into a raffle for a day-out paintballing for a party of 10.
Quiz Night: Porthcawl Museum and Historical Society is holding a quiz evening at the Hi-Tide on Thursday, October 5 at 8pm.
Bar meals are available and tickets cost £5.
