Con­cert Date: On Oc­to­ber 24, Brid­gend Choir em­barks on its an­nual tour, this time to Palma where it will un­der­take three con­certs at Palma Nova, Santa Ponsa and the world fa­mous Cathe­dral of Santa Maria of Palma in sup­port of var­i­ous char­i­ties.

Now is also the time to buy tick­ets for the choir’s per­for­mance on Novem­ber 24 at Our Lady and St Patrick’s RC Church in Maesteg.

The will be joined by guest so­prano Ang­harad Mor­gan.

Lo­cal His­tory: Brid­gend and District Lo­cal His­tory So­ci­ety hold their next meet­ing this Wed­nes­day, Oc­to­ber 11 at 7pm at Carnegie House (for­mer Li­brary) Wyn­d­ham Street.

Porth­cawl Mu­seum’s his­to­rian and sec­re­tary Ceri Joseph will en­ter­tain mem­bers with a talk on the sub­ject of Water­loo.

Mem­ber­ship is £7 yearly and vis­i­tors are wel­come at £2 per per­son.

Book Sale: Brid­gend Li­ons Club hold a one day book sale at West­ward Com­mu­nity Cen­tre, Llangewydd Road Cefn Glas on Satur­day, Oc­to­ber 21 from 9am-5pm. Re­fresh­ments are also avail­able. All are very wel­come. Bus num­bers 68 and 69 run from the bus sta­tion and stop out­side the cen­tre.

Cof­fee Morn­ing: The Cof­fee Morn­ings at Brid­gend United Church, Tondu Road con­tinue every Fri­day and Satur­day from 10am-12noon

His­tory Talk: Next Mon­day, Oc­to­ber 16, the Brid­gend branch of the Glam­or­gan Fam­ily His­tory will play host to Dean Pow­ell who will give mem­bers a talk on Dr Wil­liam Price at the Len Evans Cen­tre, Heol Per­sondy, Aberkenfig at 7.30pm.

Dance Class: An Adult Dance Class will take place at Carnegie House (the for­mer li­brary) Wyn­d­ham Street next Thurs­day, Oc­to­ber 19, at 7pm. £6.

Hos­pi­tal Ser­vice: The Hos­pi­tal Chris­tian Fel­low­ship ser­vice for Fri­day, Oc­to­ber 20, will be led by Cor­nelius Ben­nema from Brid­gend at Hos­pi­tal Chapel at the Princess of Wales Hos­pi­tal, at 3pm.
