THE Co-op has served-up a new look store in Brackla, Bridgend, following a £1m six-week programme of improvements which will create up to four new retail jobs.

The new-look store brings a funding boost for local good causes through its membership scheme where members receive a 5% reward when they swipe their card when buying own-branded products and services, and the Co-op donates a further 1% to local good causes, with the 9th Bridgend Girl Guides currently among the local causes benefiting.

Children from the Archdeacon John Lewis Primary School Choir were among the guests of honour at the official reopening.

Store manager Paul Williams said: “We are delighted to have made such a significant investment in our Brackla store, the new look and improvements will enable us to enhance our range and better serve the community, and we have received a great response.

“The Co-op is moving forward with a clear purpose and momentum. Our ambition is to ensure the store is a local hub, a real asset for the community.

“We want shoppers to know that they can become a co-owner and member of their Co-op.

“We are also giving back to the community. Our members can make a difference locally, simply by swiping their membership card when they shop with us they can raise much needed funding for organisations in the area who contribute to improving local life.”
