Strange Skies: On Sunday, October 15, just before the tail end of Hurricane Ophelia struck our area, the sun was bright red in the sky at around 6pm.

Then on Monday the morning began with a red glow and for many places it was as if there was an eclipse.

By 10am Cardiff had an orange sky, St Brides a mustard yellow hue and the street lights came on, while in Bridgend it became pitch black like night.

It was eerie as animals and birds fell silent while bees went back into their hives.

Friends in Aberdeen were fascinated to learn of how we were affected as they did not experience this particular phenomenon.
