First win of season for Coity A at Aberkenfig

lips wrapped things up for the Coity for a 9-3 victory, Clive Gronow taking the last leg for the Colliers

Current leaders in division one the Penybont had to dig deep to overcome a much improved GWR A side this week. One a piece after the threes the footballer­s had the better of the pairs to lead 3-2 in to the singles.

A 180 in a 17 dart leg from Darren Rees put the home side 4-2 up, but the Rail way men pulled one back through Mal Hookings in the next. Mike Doyle and Tony Doyle claimed the next two legs for the home side with Steve Morrell taking another leg for the canteen to make the score 6-4. Mark Ludlow secured a 7-5 victory for the Penybont tak- ing the sixth singles leg with Roy Mills winning the final leg for the GWR.

With the footballer­s dropping points the Social had a chance to take advantage and close the gap on the leaders as they took on the Five Bells. The Social got off to a ideal start taking the threes 2-0, but the Bell men came back to edge the pairs to trail 2-3 at the break . On to the singles and a 180 from Bleddyn Lyons helped the Social totally dominated as they white washed the Bells to claim all seven legs to run out 10-2 victorious

The final game in division one saw the Jolliers move up to third with a great win away at Coity B.

It was a disastrous start for the home side as they found themselves 5-0 down after the opening exchanges in the threes and pairs. Steve Price got the Coity off the mark taking the first singles leg but wins for Russell Wilks, Iorrie Jones, Roy Davies, Lyndon Phillip and Tim Pound made sure victory went to the Jolliers 10-2. Tony Rees bagging the other point for the Coity.

In division two the Busc B remain top after their home win over the Coach Drivers. One all after the threes the service men edged in front after the pairs to lead 3-2. The singles went in favour of the home side.

Second placed the White Horse lost a little bit of ground on the leaders as they battled out a draw with the Cabo Kings. Trailing 5-3 at one point the Kings rattled off three legs on the bounce to go 6-5 in front but the Horse men took the decisive last leg for a 6-6 score line.

A 180 from Paul Hillman helped the GWR B move up to joint second as they beat the West House 8-4.

The same result was recorded in the final game in division two this week as the Cabo played host to the Busc A.

All square after the threes the War office took command of the situation to edge the pairs to lead 3-2 going in to the singles..

A barrage of wins for Dads army top guns Trevor Harris, Graham Pearse, Alan Williams and Mike Stanton put the away team 7-2 ahead.

The service men ran out 8-4 winners.
