Garden Green Waste: The fortnightly collection of green-bag garden waste for our area by the Vale Council has now ceased until the spring and the ring & request service has recommenced. Call 01446 700111.

Wick Chapel: Family Christmas Carol Service at 3 pm on 10 December. All welcome. Contributions of dry goods and tins would be much appreciated and will be given to Bridgend Food Bank.

Carol Singing: From 6 pm on 18 December around St Brides and from 6 pm on 20 December around Southerndown .
Mothers Union: Christmas Eucharist at 10 am on 22 December in All Saints, Southerndown.
Noisy Birds: Recently the number of Canada Geese flying overhead each morning from the Wick area towards Ogmore-by-Sea then returning each evening seems to have greatly increased. It is fascinating to watch them.
Fox & Hounds: The new landlords are serving fish & chips, burgers and curry to eat in or take away. See advertising board for details of the live entertainment.
Oddfellows: Next meeting at 7pm, on January 3, followed by Bring a Plate Buffet in Briton Ferry Community Centre.
Earl of Dunraven Branch social evening at 7pm on February 7, in Bridgend United Service Club.
St Bridget’s Church: The charity for the month of November is the Archbishop of Wales Fund for Children.
Used stamps and postcards are collected all year round to raise funds for Children in Distress.
