TONDU ......................... 51 SEVEN SISTERS ............ 7

AFTER a couple of defeats of late Tondu certainly hit the ground running on Saturday as they trounced Seven Sisters scoring nine tries at Pandy Park, writes Mike Sully.

It only took five minutes for captain Hywel Davies to crash over from a rolling maul following a lineout and when No 8 Nathan Strong picked up and stormed over from a scrum minutes later the writing was on the wall for a Seven Sisters team without a win all season. The visitors then staged something of a come back through winger Charlie Karby who crossed in the corner for Scott Evans to convert. Another rolling maul saw prop Tom Lewis extend the Tondu lead before the break.

The second period saw the home side almost score at will and yet another rolling maul saw prop Cary Davies crash over for the bonus-point try.

A wonderful break from inside his own half by wing Marc Roberts then sent flanker Rhys Samuel over in the corner before a sensational run from scrum half Gareth Lindenburn saw him kick ahead for Marc Roberts to finish in style, Tatchell landed the conversion to give the home side a 32-7 advantage.

The next try came from the irrepressible Jake Lewis as Tondu were now totally in command and playing some wonderful rugby. So much so that winger Marc Roberts even had time to pose for the camera as he scored his second try Tatchell again adding the extra points.

And the final try came from a clinical midfield move resulting in centre Josh Tatchell flying in under the posts and of course he landed the conversion to give Tondu a memorable victory on the day.

Tondu will now be looking forward to the trip to Aberavon Quins next Saturday hopefully taking this kind of try scoring form with them.
