Game of Thrones themed wedding for happy couple

-

The couple: John Alan Cousins, 25, from Cardiff, and Hannah Louise Dobbs, 27, from Bridgend.

John is a self-employed plumber and Hannah is a venue hire officer for St Fagans National Museum of History.

The couple now live in Blaengarw, near Bridgend, with their two children – Noah, four, and Autumn, two. The venue: The wedding took place at Pencoed House Estate on Saturday, October 28. How they met: Hannah said: “John and I met by chance through friends.

“One of John’s closest friends is the younger brother of one of my friends.

“John and I had met months before we became a couple in July 2012.

“We first met while I was working at Court Colman Manor Hotel, Bridgend, and I never really thought much of it.

“We would often bump in to each other on nights out or at the hotel, and it was only after we became friends on social media that our relationship developed.

“In fact it turned out that John and I had lived in the same street for years without knowing.” The proposal: John popped the question two days before the couple’s one year anniversary.

He was tiling the bathroom floor at the couple’s home.

Hannah said his exact words were: “I was already on one knee!”

John isn’t one for huge romantic gestures so she said it suited him perfectly. The wedding: Hannah said the wedding was everything the couple wanted and more.

“The venue was absolutely beautiful,” she said.

“We had a simple civil ceremony, followed by a spiritualist blessing conducted by our minister, Carol Ellis, of the Cardiff First SNU Spiritualist Church. Following our service our beloved dogs – Murry, Delilah and Pixie – joined us and our 90 wedding guests for photographs in the grounds.”

The wedding was Game of Thrones themed – the couple hired wooden stocks and other Game of Thrones props to help set the scene.

A memorable moment for them was having Adam Double perform a live version of Ed Sheeran’s Tenerife Sea for their first dance.

They ended the night with a hog roast and a dance with their closest friends and family. The honeymoon: John and Hannah jetted off to Hurghada, in Egypt, for a week with their children.
