Birthday Concert: Mrs Helena Charles will be 100 years old in March. In celebration of this, the Bridgend Male Voice Choir will be holding a concert for her in Tabernacle Chapel on Friday, March 9. The compère for this event will be Huw Edwards from the BBC.

Tickets for the concert cost £5 and can be obtained from members of the choir, Blaengarw and Pontycymer Post Office, or from Eileen Price on 01656 870654.

Pontycymer R.F.C.: On Saturday, February 17, Pontycymer Rugby Club will play Pyle at Lawrence Park,Pontycymer. The match has a kick off time of 2.30pm.

Also, the date and venue has been set for this season’s over 35s tour.

The touring party will travel to Bristol where they will play Clevedon Vets, on Saturday, May 12,

Valley Ravens Mini Rugby: The Valley Ravens mini section are looking to recruit new rugby stars of the future. The under 7s and under 8s practise at 6pm every Wednesday at the Garw Valley Sports Centre’s outside 3G pitch, with a coaching team who are all W.R.U. qualified. All boys and girls under the age of 8 are very welcome, so please come along and give rugby a go.

PACT Meetings: The next PACT meeting for Bettws will be at 2pm on Thursday, February 15 in Bettws Life Centre.

The next PACT meeting for Llangeinor will be at 5.30pm on Wednesday, February 28 in Richard Price Centre, Llangeinor.

The next PACT meeting for Pontycymer will be at 6pm on Monday, February 26 in Pontycymer Police Station.
