Condolences: Sincere condolences to my cousin Virginia Hosey (nee Bethell) on the loss of her treasured husband of 31 years Graham who sadly passed away at the Princess of Wales Hospital last week. He had bravely suffered illhealth for sometime but was always cheerful.

Graham’s funeral will take place at Coychurch Crematorium on Friday, March 9 at 1.15pm. He will be dearly missed by those who loved him.

Laleston WI: Unfortunately after reporting Laleston W.I’s news and meetings for a decade without any mishaps, after two/ three blips in the column last year I have been informed by Secretary, Diane Thomas that all such data is now being sent to The Gem and Seaside News albeit the meetings are held in Laleston.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank past Presidents Margaret Aylen and Dawn Storie for all their past entrees into the column which I know everyone enjoyed reading and wish the WI best wishes in their future endeavours.

Laleston Gardening Club: My thanks to the Gardening Club’s Chairman, Paul Jones and Secretary Patrick Stevens for their continued news of meetings and events in the club.

Broken Wrist: Many thanks to Sue, Practictioner Nurse and the wonderful staff at A & E for their kind and prompt attention when I fell and broke my wrist last Sunday.

Thanks also to the Line Dancing Class for their lovely flowers and kind wishes. A speedy recovery is hoped for our great octagenarian dancer Doreen who is recovering after dislocating her shoulder. We’ll have to put more water with it
