How does the Motability Scheme work? The Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance, the Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment, The War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement or the Armed Forces Independence Payment is transferred to Motability as the lease payment towards a car.
Many cars come with a nil advance payment, but if you decide to choose a larger model like the Kodiaq you may need to pay an additional advance payment.
Plus, if you don’t drive you can nominate a family member, carer or friend who lives within five miles to drive the car on your behalf.
