Choir’s annual concert is sure to be a delight

BOOK your tickets now for Côr Merched Cwm Llynfi’s (Llynfi Valley Ladies Choir) annual concert.

The concert takes place on Friday, April 20, in Maesteg Town Hall, beginning at 7pm.

Led by musical director Paul Deenik and accompanis­t Laura Deenik, it promises to be a great evening’s entertainm­ent, with guest artist tenor Rhodri Prys Jones.

From Llanfyllin in mid Wales, Rhodri is a graduate of the University of Wales Trinity St David and The Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where he graduated with a first class masters degree.

He continues his studies with Adrian Thompson at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, where he is in his second year of the opera performanc­e course.

The evening will also feature the Bridgend-based string trio Bridge Strings. Made up of father and daughters, Wesley, Rhianwen and Naomi Keirl, Bridge Strings perform music arranged by its members.

Their current music includes classical and opera, musicals, films and games, jazz, tango and waltz, pop and rock covers, Celtic, country and folk. Their repertoire is continuall­y being added to.

The whole event will be compered by Maesteg’s own Tony Mullins.
