MAESTEG 5K PARKRUN
ADRIAN Pearce (unattached) stormed to victory in the 31st staging last Saturday of Maesteg 5k Parkrun.
If it was cold in Porthcawl then the thermometer was several degrees lower in the Llynfi Valley.
But it mattered not to Pearce, who won the day in a time of 20 minutes 17 seconds.
Nathan Boast (unattached) was runner-up, completing the course in 22:55, and he was followed across the finishing line by top female Claire Dunbar-Bowen (Ogmore Phoenix Runners) in a pb 23:35.
Other fine runs came from fourth-placed Aled Hughes 23:40 ahead of first-timer Kevin James (both Ogmore Phoenix Runners) 23:48, Thomas Russell (unattached) 24:24, Kris Denholm (Ogmore Phoenix Runners) 24:42, first-timer Adam Edwards and Juliet Amner (Ogmore Phoenix Runners) 26:16.
Natalie Burns (unattached) was third-placed female finisher in 11th spot from Emma Williams 28:02 (13th) and newcomer Christina ShallishLewis (both unattached) 28:06 (14th).
