Teacher Running Marathon For School: Cefn Cribwr is a happy and caring school where learning is fun and the children achieve. They make every effort to ensure the children aspire to be the best they can be and in order to support them on their journey they are seeking help. They are very proud of their 3 ALN classes and wish to develop a new learning environment for those pupils.

To do this they are asking for support of their KS2 teacher, Mr Russell, who is running the 2018 London Marathon for this cause.

Please donate as little or as much as you wish but whatever you give you can take pride in knowing that you will be making a real difference to the Cefn Cribwr pupils’ education.

Mr Russell hopes to raise £2500 and you are able to donate via his just giving page

School Fundraiser: Over a number of years The Cefn Cribwr Athletic Club Riders (cyclists gang) have raised more than £45,000 for charities such as Velindre cancer Hospital, Prostate Cymru and St Michael’s Children’s Hospital plus contributing to rides such as the Emyr Owen’s Brecon Ride.

On Sunday, March 25 they are planning a nice gentle coastal ride around Aberavon and Porthcawl and then back to Cefn Cribwr AC (approx 30 miles) to raise funds for the observation unit at Cefn Cribwr Primary school.

An ideal training ride and preparation for those more demanding rides later in the cycling season.

They would appreciate your support; the entrance fee is £20 and all proceeds will go to the observation unit of Cefn school.

Please contact Mike Kelly, Sam Young and Tom Walford at the club for more details and to order your event number. They would love to have 50 riders on board to enable them to raise at least a £1,000 for the school.

Become A Dementia Friend: If you are interested in helping Cefn Cribwr become a dementia friendly community please come along to an awareness session being held at the Green Hall, Cefn Cribwr, on Wednesday, March 14, 6pm-7pm.

Dementia Friends (an Alzheimer’s Society initiative) gives people an understanding of dementia and the small things that you can do that make a difference.
