An incinerator is needed in RCT

- Richard Shurey Penygraig, Tonypandy

WE have become so dependent on plastic, some tests show there are minute particles of plastic in bottled water. It takes dye to show up these micro-plastics, found in sea salt, around the world, and even in beer.

What are the boffins of the world going to come up with to replace plastic?

Paper, perhaps, but that would be environmentally detrimental; we are cutting down more trees than we are planting, we need to plant billions of trees.

The governments of the world need to start cleaning up the seas, instead of wasting multi-billions on killing, and wars, and weapons, and destroying this planet.

The Welsh Government is setting goals for recycling, never mind the amounts of plastics used in recycling bags. Rhondda Cynon Taf is being fined if it doesn’t reach the recycling targets. Milk bottles could be re-used, glass bottles can be re- used, instead of being smashed in the road. It was pointed out to me that guide dogs could be injured by this glass.

Isn’t it about time that Rhondda Cynon Taf residents could benefit from an incinerator, away from houses, to burn black bags of waste instead of them going to landfill? Perhaps we could then benefit from cheaper energy to heat our homes? I thought we were going to get this facility. I am fed up with living for the gas company.

Isn’t it about time the Welsh Assembly did something, instead of being a boring institution that is not accessible for the likes of us? The Westminster government is not for the likes of us; we would like a response when we write, perhaps the Prime Minister has got too much work. Why not do something instead of shouting at one another?
