After the heavy over night rain the game was re­duced to 35 overs a side, it was home stand in skip­per Rees Jones who won the toss, and put the vis­i­tors in.

Chep­stow open­ing bat Robert Jones made hay when the sun shone, car­ring his bat through the vis­i­tors in­nings with a fine 137 not out, he was sup­ported by Ben Hask­ins (72) and John Trackle (18). The Blaen­garw bowl­ing fig­ures read Bran­don Hunt­ley 7-0-55-0, Geraint Gil­let 7-1-32-1, Greg Sinott 7-1-27-0, Craig But­ler 1-0-15-0, Nik Spooner 7-0-42-1, ex-Pen­coed pace­man Gra­ham Davies 4-0-50-0 and Nathan Watts 2-0-32-0.And when the two side’s stopped for a breather, Chep­stow had posted 241-3.

Again for the sec­ond week run­ning, Blaen­garw open­ing duo Rees Jones and Greg Sinott put on a 40 plus open­ing part­ner­ship, Sinott again was the star turn, hit­ting an eye catch­ing 72, oth­ers to cash in on the large run chase was hard hit­ting Craig But­ler (48), Bran­don Hunt­ley (28) and Wil­liam Struthers (23), the game went right down to the fi­nal ball, with an­other nail bit­ting fin­ish, with a draw be­ing a fair re­sult.

On Satur­day, Blaen­garw & Coedely travel to Llandaff Play­ing Fields, where they take on Lis­vaine, stumps 1pm.
