Victoria Park Mazda celebrates 35 years as a Mazda dealer

-

AS one of the longest-established Mazda dealers in Wales, Victoria Park Mazda can offer everything from the latest models at competitive prices to services by fully qualified technicians and a dedicated genuine parts centre.

Conveniently situated in Hadfield Road, Cardiff, with plenty of free parking space, the family-run business was set up in 1982 and has put all those years of experience into delivering an excellent all-round package for its customers.

The Mazda brand has gone from strength to strength over the years and now boasts a full range of vehicles to suit all requirements. The Mazda2 is the perfect city run-around, then there’s the sporty MX-5 for the motorist who just loves the wind-in-the-hair driving experience.

And where better to find out more about the extensive Mazda range than Victoria Park Mazda?

Marketing director Peter Marshall said: “We are celebrating our 35th year this month and are very proud of the standard of service we offer.

“We have won the UK Dealer of the Year Award twice, which says something about the quality of service and expertise we provide.”

The business was formed by Peter’s parents Tony and Dianne Marshall in 1982, when it was based in Cowbridge Road East, Cardiff.

The showroom then moved to Bessemer Road, Cardiff, in 1986, but has well and truly established itself in its current state-of-the-art location since 1992.

Peter explained: “Each time we have moved, the operation has grown and the size of the showroom has also expanded. This has been due to the volume of sales vehicles we stock, the large servicing area and the genuine parts centre.

“We employ more than 20 people and I think it is a credit to the company that many of our staff stay so long. The majority of staff have been with us between six and 30 years, which means they have acquired a wealth of knowledge and experience.”

And they are happy to meet and greet any new customers in a welcoming, friendly environment.

Walking into a car showroom can be a daunting experience, but not so at Victoria Park Mazda.

“We know the importance of treating the customer correctly. We have been, and still are, a family run business and that’s very important to us. We instil into all our staff the importance of greeting customers in a friendly manner,” said Peter.

He continued: “A large proportion of our business comes via recommendations from existing customers, so keeping our excellent reputation is vital. In fact, one of our most loyal customers has recently purchased his 22nd Mazda since we opened – I think that is the perfect customer satisfaction reference.”

But it’s not all about new cars at Victoria Park Mazda. There are currently more than 50 used vehicles on offer, including an incredible range of nearly new models at a fraction of the new price.

There is a business centre with dedicated staff members who specialise in the finance side of things, along with contract hire facilities.

It is here that the team of specialists can help you find the right car or fleet of vehicles to suit your business requirements.

They offer advice on the best ways to finance your fleet, tax implications, CO2 emissions and overall price comparisons on various models.

Peter said: “Experience, convenience and flexibility are important qualities for the day-to-day running of your business and traits you’ll find in each one of the services we offer. We believe Mazda has an exciting range of great driving cars that offer exceptional reliability and value for money, backed up by class-leading residual values.”

Then there is the fully-equipped servicing operation, with a team of technicians who have been Mazdatrained to deliver an excellent service to the highest possible standards.

And there is the genuine parts centre, too, with all the latest technical wizardry to keep your Mazda in top condition. All parts are manufactured to Mazda’s original design and specifications.

Finally, the Motability scheme is also available at Victoria Park Mazda. This scheme is a national charity and was set up by the Government in 1977 to help disabled people and their families achieve better mobility on the road.

There are currently more than 390,000 Motability vehicles on our roads today.

In 2007, aware of the need to maintain the ethos of the business, Tony and Dianne arranged to pass control of the business to the directors who had been with them for 15-plus years and their son Peter, confident in the future direction of Victoria Park and the Mazda franchise.
