LYDIA Hall last week missed the cut in the Jabra Ladies Open at the Evian Resort in France, writes Tony Poole.

Lydia from Pencoed returned to European Tour action having teed it up three times on the Symetra Tour in the USA.

However, approachin­g the end of her opening round, electrical activity and heavy rain led to play being suspended.

Lydia was just one over par at the time, but when play resumed the following day, she signed for a three-over par score of 74.

Another 74 followed in the second round, and she missed the cut that came on a five-over par 147 by one shot.

The event was won by a French player, Astrid Vayson De Pradenne, who defeated Karolin Lampert (Germany) at the first play-off hole.

Both competitor­s carded identical scores of 70, 69, 67 to finish tied on a seven-under par score of 206.

Ed Meggitt, Bleddyn Taylor, Robert Ingram and Barrie Melhuish all shot 33 points while Andrew Ingram got a two on the 14th hole on the way to a 32-point return.

Meanwhile, Wilma Van Demmelen won a Ladies Stableford event on countback last week with a score of 27 points.

Her winning round contained three pars with Heather Aitkin and Andrea Clowes the other players on the same mark.

Fourth place went to Janet Hopkin, who signed for 23 points.
