BRIDGEND Ravens fell to a disappointing second successive defeat in their third and final pre-season game against Bargoed at the Morganstone Brewery Field.

Aaron Grabham opened the scoring for the Ravens before Stuart Floyd-Ellis latched on to a hack though to put the Ravens 12-0 up.

A Tyler Williams try stretched the score to 19-0 with the Ravens in firm control.

Bargoed opened their scoring account just before half-time to make it 19-7.

Continuing their momentum, Bargoed added a second try soon after halftime and then went on to take the lead following a third try, and then went on to score a fourth straight from the kickoff.

Nathan Edwards then crashed over for the Ravens to make the score 24-28 and put the game in the balance. Bargoed then added another try before another quick reply from the Ravens, 31-35.

Bargoed then added a penalty to make the gap seven points and when Geraint Roberts slid over the line in the dying stages of the game following a lineout move, the game was in the balance.

The conversion from Ryan Evans fell just short, meaning victory for the visitors in what was a thrilling try-fest.

Bridgend kick-off their Premiership season with an away match against Cross Keys at Sandy Park on Saturday and the Ravens have organised a supporters bus for the fixture.
