AN NHS worker who was warned to lose weight after suffering chest pains has lost an astonishing 10 stone in just eight months.

In January, Liam Swain, from Bridgend, signed up to a local Slimming World group after being told by his GP his health was at risk if he stayed at his original weight of more than 25st.

He has now lost 10 stone and says he’s at his “dream target weight” but he still hopes to lose more.

With a diet consisting of fast food during 12-hour shifts, Liam said he struggled to eat at the right times of day.

Breakfast would be a fryup, followed by sandwiches and crisps in the day with pizza and chips for dinner. He would also snack on biscuits and chocolate throughout the day.

Now, a typical day consists of fruit and yoghurt for breakfast, a salad for lunch and a pasta dish for dinner.

“Seeing results really motivated me to go further.

“My mind was so focused on losing weight and becoming a better ver- sion of me,” the 25-yearold said.

Liam is now hoping to motivate others by sharing his story on Instagram. He posts daily, giving people advice about how to stick to the plan.

He says it can be difficult to eat healthily while working.

The super slimmer added: “There is a lot of temptation when you work long hours, but I am a lot happier now than I was and when I think of that it helps.”

He says he has become healthier both mentally and physically and attributes this new-found happiness to his weight loss.

He added: “I see the changes I’ve made in myself and I can’t believe I achieved this. I want to inspire other people who want to lose weight and are struggling, I know what it’s like first-hand.”

Liam attends Scott Hawkins’ Slimming World group at Sarn & Bryncwils Social Club.
