History: BBC Weatherman Chris Jones recently interviewe­d several residents of the area to hear their stories of long ago.

All Saints Church: Following the Sunday morning Eucharist in Southerndo­wn Moira was given a beautiful orchid plant to thank her for taking many Services whilst we were waiting for a new vicar to be appointed.

St Bridget’s Church: A bring and share lunch for the whole parish was held in the Church Hall as a farewell and happy retirement to Edward, who has been standing in during the three years that we have been without a Priest in Charge.

Parish News: Assistant Curate Revd Marc Walford has taken over ministry of the Parish and a lunch was held after the Sunday Service to welcome him and his wife.

Marc visited and met members of Tea & Chat together with Patriyia and we hope they will be happy and settled in the vicarage in St Brides Major.

Our local PCSO Angela Stone also called in on Tea & Chat to give a warning about scams in the area and to give folk a chance to ask her any questions that they may have.

Evangelica­l Church: There was a coffee morning recently to celebrate 50 years since the opening of the Evangelica­l Church in Ogmore-by-Sea.

All welcome to come along to a coffee morning at 11am on Monday, October 1 to discuss the past, present and future and at 11am on Monday, October 8 for a Macmillan coffee morning in the Evangelica­l Church, Ogmore-by-Sea.

Exhibition: There will be a display at the Evangelica­l Church from Saturday, September 29 to Saturday, October 6 documentin­g the Ogmore-by-Sea story; visit www. theogmoreb­yseastory. com for more details and opening times.

Harvest Services: Thursday, September 27 at 7pm in Ewenny Priory Church followed by harvest supper.

Sunday, September 30 at 6pm in All Saints, Southerndo­wn followed by tea/coffee.

Thursday, October 11 at 11.15am for 11.30am in Brocastle Care Home.

Sunday, October 21 at 11am in St Bridget’s led by the children from Year 3 of St Brides School followed by parish lunch in the Church Hall.
