Special Birthday: Belated congratulations to Gloria Paton, of Heol y Bardd, from family and friends on her very special birthday which was spent in Agios Gordis, Corfu.

The hotel, Mayor la Grotto Verde was absolutely beautiful overlooking the green sea but sadly the trip from Corfu Airport was marred by the massive piles of rubbish dumped at the roadsides all the way – not a sight to behold.

Unfortunatelythere were no enthusiastic recycling staff and lorries out there and how we moan if they miss a day or a week here.

Gloria thoroughly enjoyed her celebrations and on an afternoon walk in the sunshine met a local resident, a muskrat ( a large rodent) who lives a solitary life on its hillside home without any partner or family – a very peaceful existence.

Apparently this rodent normally only shows itself at dawn or night time so it must have ventured out to wish Gloria a Happy Birthday hoping for some birthday cake!
