No winners yet for cafe’s ‘gutbuster’ eating challenge

EARLIER this year, this cafe set a challenge for people who can eat a lot - but no one has completed it yet.

Notty’s Cafe has two huge eating challenges.

The breakfast, known as ‘Notty’s Gutbuster’, may be a bit of a task for even the biggest eaters among us - that might be the reason why no one has yet succeeded. ed.

It contains five slices of bacon, five sausages, u sages, three eggs, fried potatoes, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, four hash browns, four portions of black k pudding, four slices of toast and a regular tea a or coffee.

You can get all of this on a plate for just st £12.50, and if you finnish it within 20 minnutes you get a place on n the cafe’s Wall of Fame. e.

The faster the time, e, the higher you climb b the board.

But since it was s launched back in the e spring, no one has as completed the challlenge – and the owners rs have opened another er cafe.

Owner Julian Nott, aged 46, runs the cafe with his wife Nicola in Aberkenfig, near Bridgend.

He said: “We are now also at 15 High Street, t, Ogmore Vale.

“We opened on October 1 and about 12 2 have tried in the new cafe and failed.

“About 40 have tried at the Aberkenfig Cafe and also failed.

“We are in process of setting a waffle challenge too.”

People can also at- tempt to wolf down Notty’s Badboy Burger, which has to be completed within 15 minutes. The Notty Badboy is made up of four burgers, four portions of bacon, four chee cheese slices, th three hash b r own s , an egg an and some ch chips. Topped o off with a bu bun, the monster burger can be bought fo for just £9 £9.95. Julian sa said: “We ar are j just t wonderin ing who is going to be first to complete th the Gutbuster or the Badboy - that is also unfinished. “Customers like a challenge. We ar are getting a leader bo board made for the wall of fame where people’s names will be put on if they co complete the challe lenge in the given tim time.”
