He also has a new academic book coming out this year with his mentor Dr Jane Hanley.

Since campaigning he has founded International Father’s Mental Health Day and successfully campaigned to get fathers supported if the mother is unwell with NHS England who has asked him to be involved in new services which will save thousands of lives each year as the biggest killer in men under 45 is suicide in the UK.

Mark is now working with midwives, health visitors and organisations as a keynote speaker and trainer mostly in England and Scotland and is often asked to talk about mental health on television and radio stations around the world.

Mark says: “If you’re struggling today don’t worry what people think. Just get the help as the quicker the help, the quicker the recovery and so many people are suffering in silence in our valley”.

Not bad for a Hill Street boy who left school at 15 years of age and still coaches football for the Wyndham Boys and Girls Club which helped him as a child growing up giving him his confidence.
