TADAS: Tondu and District Art Society will be holding its Autumn Exhibition at the Len Evans Centre, Heol Persondy, Aberkenfig from Friday, November 15 to Tuesday, November 19. The Exhibition will be open from 10am-4pm daily, including Sunday.

There will be over 150 framed paintings on display as well as a range of unframed paintings and greetings cards.

Also featured are Tondu Primary School pupils’ competitio­n entries, entitled A Winter Scene.

Admission to the exhibition is free, and refreshmen­ts will be on sale.

Family History: The next meeting of the Bridgend branch of the Glamorgan Family History Society is on Monday, November 18 at the Len Evans

Centre off Heol Persondy, Aberkenfig CF32 9RF.

Guests are the Garw History Society who will give a talk on People and Events of the Garw Valley.

Doors open 7pm with talk to start 7.30pm. Refreshmen­ts available – all welcome .

Marie Curie: Bridgend & Porthcawl fundraisin­g group for Marie Curie are putting on a winter concert with Porthcawl choral group Sounds Familiar on Friday, November 22 at Bridgend United Church, Tondu Rd.

The evening will consist of refreshmen­ts, Christmas craft stalls and a raffle. Parking available opposite the church and a lift is available inside the church. Doors open 6.45pm.

Mistletoe and Musicals: Stage Right Production­s return to the Community Centre (Green Hall) with their latest production on Saturday, December 14 at 7.30pm. Doors 7pm.

Performing songs from the musicals and some familiar Christmas tunes.

Lesson for Litterbugs: Schoolchil­dren are teaching litterbugs in Cefn, Kenfig Hill, Pyle and Cornelly a lesson or two.

During the autumn term, pupils from six primaries including

Cefn School have been spearheadi­ng a campaign which aims to encourage residents to bin their rubbish instead of dropping litter.

In collaborat­ion with Bridgend County Borough Council, Keep Wales Tidy and local Community Councils (including Cefn Cribwr Council), together with Sea Quest, the children will learn about the damaging effects of litter on their local environmen­t by carrying out litter picks in their communitie­s.

The pupils will then design posters and the winning designs and slogans will be displayed on streets around their schools.

There has already been a noticeable reduction in litter in recent months in Porthcawl where the initiative was first piloted.

Any name not in by this date cannot be added after.

Nantymoel Boys & Girls Club: Why not go along to the new cafe at the club open every day for teas, coffees, food, cakes etc.

Also they have a book swap club where you can have a tea or coffee while picking your books to take home to read and after reading them take them back to swap for some more.

Valley Ravens RFC: Mini & Junior rugby training is already underway for the coming 2019/20 season, with high numbers in attendance at various age groups, if any child is interested in joining the Valley Ravens, training is every Wednesday, under 6s & 9s is at Ogmore Park, under 13s at the Planka Playing Fields, both start time 6pm.

Guest Speakers: An invite to our friends and neighbours in the Ogmore Valley, on Friday, November 29, on the eve of the Wales v Barbarians autumn internatio­nal, Pontycymme­r Rugby Club are holding a gentleman’s evening at the function suite in their clubhouse on Oxford Street.

The club can confirm that the two guest speakers on the night are former British Lions, Wales Rugby Union, Great Britain

Rugby League and Wales Rugby League centres Allan Bateman and John Devereux.

It promises to be a fun filled night, which will also include a question and answer session.

Tickets cost £10 each and can be purchased from the club or pay on the door. All welcome.

Charity Work: We Would like to update you on what Trigger & Snowdrop (Brent & Theresa Edwards) of Edwards 3JJJs of

Ogmore Vale have done over the last few months.

They have given 40 bags of goodies and 12 boxes to Christchur­ch Chapel Ogmore Vale, sixhundred-pound worth of Halloween things to Bad Bikers Community hub for kid’s parties, 90 bags of Halloween fun bags worth over £400 to Wyndham Boys and girls club.

Raffle prizes to kids rugby in Ogmore, Nantymoel and not forgetting Cancer Research.

They have had help on the way from Yvette, Karl and Stuart of most

Haunted who kindly visited Ogmore Vale; Trigger Merchandis­e; calendar printing all kindly done by Tim and Owen of Bridgend Embroidery Store Ogmore Vale; and Caterina Povey for sorting out some Trigger T-Shirts.

A Big! Big! thank you to all who help us along the way and to our customers for their continuing support.

Coffee Morning: Coffee morning at Christchur­ch Chapel Corbett Street, Ogmore Vale on Thursday, November 28, with a cake stall, book stall, china and clothes stalls & not forgetting a raffle etc.

It will be from 9.30am10.45am.

So why not join them for a coffee and its free admission as well. All welcome.

Blackmill Over-50s: Blackmill Over-50s meet at the Local Community Centre on Wednesday evenings at 7pm, always glad to welcome new members.

This is a social gathering and occasional­ly a trip to the theatre or a meal out is arranged.

Nantymoel Knitters:

We are members of a Knitting Club who live in Nantymoel.

We meet twice a week at Dinam Close every Tuesday and Friday from 10am-noon.

We are always looking for new members and all our efforts are to make things for charity.

If there is anyone who has any spare wool they do not want, we would be very grateful to receive it.
