Spec upgrade for petrol Outlander

THE petrol-only powered version of the Mitsubishi Outlander has been given a spec upgrade for the 2020 model year, while enhancements to the power unit have led to the model’s first year road tax being downgraded by £325.

The seven-seat, four-wheel-drive SUV comes with an improved equipment specification which includes a new, eight-inch infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, including Bluetooth, DAB digital radio, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto compatibility and a rear-view camera as well as a built-in TomTom satellite navigation system on the range-topping versions.

The climate control panel has also been redesigned giving the dashboard a fresh look, while the driver’s seat now features power lumbar support and rear seat comfort has been improved with additional, ergonomic padding.

In line with the rest of the Mitsubishi range, the model designations are also being changed.

The entry-level version, costing £28,085, is now named the Design version and, in addition to seven seats, four-wheel drive, automatic transmission and the new infotainment system is also equipped with 18-inch alloys, heated front seats, keyless operation, electronic parking brake, automatic lights and wipers, cruise control and dual-zone climate control.

The new flagship model, priced at £30,385 and now badged as the Outlander Exceed, adds leather upholstery with electric driver’s side adjustment, a 360 degree camera, TomTom navigation, LED headlamps, a heated steering wheel, power tailgate, blind spot warning with rear cross traffic alert and twin rear USB ports.
