Plenty of events to get you in the Christmas mood

BONFIRE night has been and gone and Halloween is a distant memory, which can only mean one thing – Christmas is just around the corner.

And in Bridgend, Porthcawl and Maesteg, there are plenty of exciting festive events happening in the run up to the big day.

Here are the dates to put in your diary. parade will begin at 6pm.

Where? Porthcawl town centre. The parade will begin at the top of John Street. and 15.

December 27 at 5pm will be a BSL performanc­e.

January 3 at 10.30am will be a relaxed performanc­e specifical­ly for children and adults who require extra physical, sensory, learning and behavioura­l support.

Where? Grand Pavilion. ers receive a festive Christmas pudding for their efforts or you can ask for the cost of the pudding to be donated to a food bank.

There will also be mulled wine and mince pies available.

Online entry is £20 for affiliated runners or £22 for non-affiliated runners and the main charity this year is the Bridgend Community Bereavemen­t Support.

When? December 8. Where? Starting and finishing at Candleston Car Park, Merthyr Mawr.

Green Santa will be visiting Bryngarw again this year and it’s certainly going to be a magical Christmas experience.

Entry is £15 per child, which includes craft making before seeing Santa, three minutes per child with Santa and a Green Santa toy to go home.

Adults go free but entry must be pre-booked online.

When? November 30 and December 1.

Where? Bryngarw Country Park.

Santa has lost his reindeer in Bryngarw – can you help find them?

Collect your map from the visitor centre along with your bag of reindeer food and then head out onto the trail to find the lost reindeer.

Collect a sticker for each reindeer before heading back to write and post a letter to Santa letting him know the good news.

Entry is £3.50 per child. You can pay on the day and it is cash only.

The trail takes about 30 to 40 minutes and is muddy in parts. Due to the terrain parts of the trail are not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchair­s.

When? December 7, 8, 14 and 15 from 11am until 3pm.

Where? Country Park.
