ON NOVEMBER 18 this year Primrose Karshe went to sleep after playing with her brothers – just like any normal day.

Tragically the apparently healthy 10-monthold baby girl never woke up

Her grief-stricken parents Daniel Karshe and Rebecca Price – who live with sons Kristian, six, and Gabriel, three – have spoken about the pain of losing their “happy” baby girl and how the “amazing” community where they live has come together to help and support the family.

Dad Daniel, 30, said: “We are both completely devastated – it’s really hard to explain. The day before was a normal day. She was healthy, happy, playing with the boys, I’ve got pictures of them together happily playing.

“We put her to bed as normal, I last checked on her at 3am because Gabriel was coughing and refusing to go to sleep.

“At 8.30am Becky was doing the boys and Primrose breakfast and she said for me to go and wake

Primrose up. She loved to sleep – she wouldn’t wake up if you didn’t wake her up.

“I went to try and wake her up like I normally would – I went in there and tickled her foot. When I found her, she was gone and everything changed. We went outside to do CPR – I couldn’t speak at all. It took me hours to speak. Becky was on the floor trying to give her CPR. At the moment we are numb and in shock.”

Photographer Daniel described Primrose as “happy, playful and goofy”. Speaking at the family home last week, he said: “Just seeing her little face the way it was – a few hours before she was fine and happy.

“It’s like everything around you goes a thousand miles per hour but you are standing still and all you can hear is a clock tick. We are just waiting for the days to end.

“She would light up a room – every person who came into contact with her immediately loved her because she was so small and full of brightness. She loved pink. She was an absolute angel.”

Talking about the tragic day, mum Rebecca said their neighbours in the Valleys community of Blaengwynfi had helped the family.

“We went outside screaming and I think every one of our neighbours came out,” she said.

“One neighbour took the phone and spoke to the ambulance; another neighbour came downstairs to deal with the boys because they were screaming.

“I just scooped her up and ran outside. They found no cause [of death] and we won’t find out for a minimum of six months.

She is currently being tested for any underlying blood problems. .

“It’s like you know it’s happened but you don’t want to believe it. You are
