A US cyber security company has opened a centre in South Wales.
CGI’s Bridgend office will provide roles for around 100 highly skilled cyber security analysts.
The new centre expands CGI’s current cyber security services delivered from Wales, with analysts providing 24/7 services to clients across the UK’s commercial and public sectors.
Richard Holmes, vicepresident of cyber security services at CGI in the UK, said: “At CGI we help a broad range of clients manage their cyber security challenges with a business-focused approach.
“Our new cyber security centre will help our clients be resilient against the increasing threat of cyber-attacks, data breaches and the insider threat.
“CGI has had a long history as a major employer in South Wales and our latest investment is testament to the highly-skilled workforce in the region and our commitment to continue to bring highskilled jobs to the region.”
CGI is among the largest independent IT and business consulting services firms in the world, with approximately 77,500 consultants and professionals.
And the company has one of the UK’s largest dedicated cyber security businesses with more than 250 professionals based across the UK.
It aims to help clients assess the risks they face, helping design and build secure solutions or providing managed security services to protect against attack.
The new centre will look to build on CGI’s existing Reading-based cyber security centre, and aim to provide a platform for continued growth in this high-demand area.
