Santa’s Grotto: Santa will be in his Carnegie House Grotto on Saturday, December 14.

Admission is £6 per child to visit which includes a good quality gift.

Free craft tables for those children waiting to see him plus gift tables.

Bookings can be made in advance at www.carnegiehouse. co.uk or at Carnegie House, Wyndham Street Bridgend from 10am4pm Saturday.

All proceeds of the Christmas Grotto will be distributed to local charities by Bridgend Lions Club.

Scouts’ Xmas Fayre: 3rd Bridgend Scouts’ Xmas Fayre last Wednesday was extremely well attended and a great success.

More than £400 was raised and Leaders Kath and Dave, also Senior Leaders Pauline and Helen wish to thank all concerned.

The money will be used for necessary equipment needed and shared between the Scouts, Cubs and Beavers.

It is hoped that many of the youngsters will visit a Camp in Windsor next year and it is hoped that more fundraising will assist in this venture.

St David’s Church, Laleston: Please find listed below details of the special Christmas services/events being held at St Davids Church:

Monday, December 16 – Christmas Carol Service starting at 6pm and a chance to meet Father Christmas after the service.

Sunday, December 22 – Fancy Dress Crib Service starting at 4pm. Children are invited to come in fancy dress – shepherds, kings, princesses and angels are particularly welcome.

Tuesday, December 24 – A Very Modern, Family Carol Service at 3.30pm. With a mix of much-loved Christmas songs with some traditional carols starting at 7.30pm.

Wednesday, December 25 – Christmas communion starting at 9.30am.

Also an early heads up – the annual St David’s and Village Fete will be on Saturday, June 27, 2020.
