Starting the second half with a bang, Bargoed looked to play more expansivel­y against the wind and were rewarded with Calum Jones crossing for a try wide out.

Quins defended manfully and several attacks were halted.

It is a real shame there are not two clubs promoted from the Championsh­ip. Bargoed are an exceptiona­l team on and off the field.

Results against such high flyers are not going to affect the Quins league position. Te coming weeks will. Next Saturday Quins travel to a resurgent Cross Keys who are on their heels following a run of very good recent results.

A HARD fought game where both teams game everything, ended with Nantyffyll­on gaining their second second victory away from home.

Te second half saw Waunarlwyd­d have plenty of the ball but the Nanty defence were resolute and defiant.

Nanty increased their lead when Davies intercepte­d in his own half,raced deep into their half and then put in a deft little kick where centre Lloyd Freeman who was following up in support dived on to get the try.

Davies added the conversion to cap a good afternoon. Waunarlwyd­d threw everything into attack and another forward drive saw them cross in the corner.

FALL Ball made their first ever visit to the Garw Valley for this Division Tree West Central clash.

And it was the visitors from down West Wales that took the spoils, half time Fall Bay lead the game 15-0, and the second was much the same finishing 30-0.
