It’s simply electrifying at Audi
THERE are busy months ahead for Audi this year with an array of new and exciting models hitting the showrooms.
First up is the e-tron Sportback which is a striking new dynamic SUV Coupe that lines up alongside the original e-tron as the Audi electrification programme begins to gather momentum.
It offers up to 300kW of power, a WLTP range of up to 240 miles in UK specification form and a wealth of advanced technology, including digital matrix LED headlights which are available for the first time in a series-production vehicle.
Director of Audi UK Andrew Doyle, said: “With its familiar SUV proportions and classic design the e-tron provided the perfect entry point for Audi customers approaching fully electric driving for the first time, and has very successfully paved the way for the new e-tron Sportback to head in an even bolder design direction.”
Also this year, the luxurious S8 gains some exciting new kit with innovative ‘predictive active suspension’ that can raise each wheel individually to set the car up appropriately for road imperfections picked out by its cameras. And it still boasts its V8 high performance 571ps engine with 800Nm of torque.
There will be the first examples of the all-new RS 6 Avant, RS 7 Sportback and RS Q8 models which will all be taking to the roads during 2020.
In addition, at least five plug-in hybrid models will be on stream in the UK by the end of 2020 namely the A6, A7, A8, Q5, Q7 TFSI e.
And although it’s still very top secret with very few details filtering through at this stage, the all-new A3 Sportback is due in the UK in the summer.
So, at Audi the year begins with the e-tron Sportback and ends with the final production car to make its debut being the e-tron GT. With four doors, four seats and blisteringly fast acceleration, this all-electric drive model completes this year’s Audi line-up.
The brand with the four rings launched its electric offensive with the world premiere of the all-electric SUV Audi e-tron in September 2018. By 2025 Audi will offer 12 models with all-electric drive in the most important markets worldwide and achieve roughly one-third of its sales with electrified vehicles.
