● Over-50s Informatio­n: Discover what activities and groups are going on in your local area by coming along to an Over- 50s community informatio­n morning at Sarn Community

Hub (next to Filco) on Friday, March 27 from 10am – 1pm. Organised by BAVO’s Community Navigators Project, meet local organisati­ons with lots of informatio­n on how you can make new friends, learn new skills, get financial advice and help to stay fit and active! Local Community Coordinato­r, Care and Repair, Employabil­ity Bridgend, Sunshine Training, Squirrels

Nest and the Sycamore Service. Working together to connect you to informatio­n and activities in your community to help your health and wellbeing, feel free to pop in for a chat whilst enjoying a cuppa.

● Coytrahen Gardening:

On Tuesday, March 10 Coytrahen Gardening Club will be hosting an evening with Joseph

Atkin head gardener at Aberglasne­y House and Gardens.

He will be talking about Aberglasne­y’s kitchen gardens which should prove an interestin­g and informativ­e evening. Aberglasne­y has wonderfull­y diverse gardens with lots of unusual plants and is well worth a visit.

All are welcome on the evening so bring along a friend. Tickets will be available from members of the club at a cost of £3 or you can pay at the door.

● Dance Classes: There is a new and exciting class starting for all those young people who want to tap some feet and pointe some toes, in a free taster session at The Welfare Hall, Aberkenfig, Bridgend, Sunday, March 8.

■ 3-4 years -

9am-9.40am - Ballet.

■ 5-6 years - 10am-11.30am - Ballet, Tap & Jazz.

■ 7-9 years - 11.45am-1.15pm - Ballet, Tap & Jazz.

No uniform required for taster sessions, and regular scheduled classes of each dance style to follow at £4.50 per class.

● Funding Surgery: A day of pre-booked appointmen­ts has been organised by Bridgend Associatio­n of Voluntary Organisati­ons (BAVO) in collaborat­ion with

BBC Children in Need on Thursday, March 5 for voluntary and community groups from 9.30am-4pm at Bryncethin Community Centre, Bridgend.

Open to groups serving Bridgend County Borough that work with disadvanta­ged children and young people, 30 minute appointmen­ts will be available with James Bird, a BBC Children in Need grants officer, to discuss the eligibilit­y and potential of a project proposal.

Organisati­ons who wish to attend BAVO’s funding surgery must be available between 9.30am – 4pm on Thursday, March 5.

To apply for an appointmen­t, you need to email an outline of your project proposal (no more than one side of A4), to angeladavi­es@bavo. org.uk by no later than Thursday, February 20.

● Christian Spirituali­st:
