● Heathbridge Surgery’s Winter Flu Vaccination Plans: Heathbridge House Medical Surgery will this year be holding its flu vaccine clinic at Bethlehem Church Life Centre in Cefn.

The flu vaccine clinic will run in a similar way to the very successful Covid-19 vaccine clinics the surgery also held at the Life Centre earlier this year.

Heathbridge were intending to start booking appointments, but have been informed that there is a delay of the delivery of the vaccines.

The surgery is expecting to receive the vaccines towards the end of this month.

It is therefore likely a clinic will be held on a Saturday in October. Heathbridge will confirm the date once the GP practice is certain as to when the vaccines will be delivered.

This winter, all patients 50 years of age and over are eligible for the flu vaccine.

Patients under 50 years of age who are in the following groups will also be eligible for the vaccine:

People with underlying health conditions such as heart disease, kidney disease, asthma, stroke, cancer, those who are taking medication which suppressed the immune system/ Pregnant women/ Carers / People with a Body Mass Index of over 40/ People with a learning disability/ Healthcare workers (including healthcare students) with direct patient contact/ Staff in nursing homes and care homes with regular client contact / Staff providing domiciliary care.

Heathbridge will provide a date for the clinic as soon as possible. An appointment will need to be booked before attending the clinic.
