LLANTWIT Major leapfrogged Pontypridd at the top of the JD Cymru South after a 2-1 win at Llanelli.

That made it nine games without defeat for the visitors and allowed them to take over at the top after Briton Ferry Llansamlet held Pontypridd Town to a goalless draw.

Goals from Tom Walters and Josh Jones put Llantwit ahead before the home side grabbed a consolation goal four minutes from time from Callum Bateman.

Pontypridd extended their unbeaten run to 10 games, but their single point from their home clash with fourth-placed Briton Ferry Llansamlet wasn’t enough to keep them ahead of the pack.

The visitors had to play with 10 men for the final half-an-hour after Jarrad Welch picked up a red card.

Goytre United left it late to take all three points at Afan Lido as they grabbed goals in the 89th and 90th minutes to secure a 2-1 win.

The home side had hit the front when Liam Griffiths scored four minutes into the second half and looked set for a notable win until the late drama.

Tim Parker levelled matters with a minute left to play and then Jay Thomas smashed home the winner. That was enough to move his side up into third place.

Tristan Jenkins upstaged his older and more experienced strike partner Lee Trundle in Ammanford’s 7-1 victory at Port Talbot. The 20-year-old scored four times, including a second half hat-trick, while the ex-Swansea

City star Trundle could only come up with two goals.

The other goal came from Euros Jenkins. Port Talbot, still seeking their first point of the season, at least notched their second goal of the campaign through Daryl Hughes six minutes from time.

Two goals from Sean Feeley set-up Risca United for a 4-0 home win over Swansea University while Riccardo Mackenzie, Luke Davidson and David Lyon scored the goals as Taffs Well beat Undy Athletic 3-0.
