Laleston Gardening Club: Following a Committee Meeting on Tuesday, February 15, there are a number of dates that members of Laleston Gardening Club might like to enter in their diaries.

A lecture has been booked for April 11, when Kevin Thomas will give a talk entitled Bedding Plants and Schemes which is very appropriate with the Annual Plant Sale taking place just one month later.

Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis and there will be a small admission charge of £1 per person to help with additional expenses and refreshments.

Sue will accept bookings by email, Facebook Messenger or by telephone, but this is the least favourite option as she has many commitments outside of Gardening Club.

Why not call at Cliff Cottage on Saturday morning between 10am and noon to make bookings while seeing what is on offer in the Club shop?

It has also been decided to restart the Ladies Section Meetings commencing Tuesday, April 5 at 7.30pm.

On Saturday, April 23 at 10am there will be a sale of perennial plants and on Saturday, May 7 at 10am we will hold our usual sale of bedding plants and veg plants.

The occasion of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee will be celebrated on Saturday, June 4 at 2.30pm with celebration teas served in the marquee and the main hall.

The Committee then focused its attention on the summer coach trips.

A trip to RHS Tatton Park Show has been provisionally booked, leaving on Friday, July 22, overnight accommodation is booked with dinner and bed & breakfast at a Manchester hotel.

On Saturday, July 23, we will be taken to the Tatton Park Show and the admission price is included in the total cost of £150 per person.

Our Annual Horticultural Show will take place as usual on Saturday, September 3. Further details will be published nearer to the respective dates.
