HELP and support for unpaid carers in Bridgend County Borough will continue with a new provider delivering the dedicated Bridgend Carers Wellbeing service.

TuVida is a well-established charity organisation that offers support to unpaid carers and the people they care for.

The Bridgend Carers Wellbeing service offers health and wellbeing advice, access to carers breaks, carers grants, advice about caring, free training, and a Carers Emergency Card.

They will begin to deliver the Bridgend Carers Wellbeing service from 1st April 2023. If you are already registered with the existing Bridgend Carers Wellbeing service, then please be assured that your details will be securely transferred to TuVida who will continue to offer you support.

Bridgend County Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Social Services and Early Help Jane Gebbie said: “As a result of a recent retendering exercise, TuVida were successful in being awarded the contract for our Bridgend Carers Wellbeing service.

“With many people providing unpaid care for relatives, friends, partners or neighbours, the Bridgend Carers Wellbeing service is key to providing information, advice and practical assistance.

“We understand that caring responsibilities can differ from person to person, and we encourage all unpaid carers to access the support that is available to them.”

Tuvida Chief Operating Officer, Gareth Howells, said: “As a charity that has supported unpaid carers for over 30 years, TuVida are excited to be working in partnership with Bridgend County Borough Council to deliver the Bridgend Carers Wellbeing Service from 1st April.

“The Bridgend Carers Wellbeing Service offers unpaid carers vital support and advice in the local community and the service builds on TuVida’s carers services operating across the UK.”
