Coronation Party: Alas our prayers were finally answered affording us some dry weather for Saturday's Coronation Party at Heol y Bardd following an extremely wet morning.

The organisers were determined it would go ahead and diligently worked erecting bunting gazebos, tables, throughout the heavy downpours.

Early afternoon the rain actually stopped and a fabulous buffet was laid out.

Entertainment consisted of a Coronation Quiz, Coronation Bingo and Raffles which all those who attended (and were not put off by the rainy start) enjoyed.

Congratulations to Mandy and her team for all their hard work and a great afternoon! The photo shows all the party residents relaxing together.

Laleston Gardening Club: A little reminder that the Club's Annual Plant and Veg Sale takes place this Saturday May 13. There will be various stalls, coffee and cakes plus raffles – don't miss it!

The Annual Horticultural Show also takes place on August 12.

It is hoped that as many of the Club's members as possible will enter exhibits and support this important annual event.

The Club's latest newsletter draws attention to the fact that Margaret Worgan, Club President, is currently making arrangements for the ever popular summer coach trips in June, July and August. Details will follow when the arrangements are finalised.

Anyone connected to the Club will be aware of the themed nights that have taken place at Cliff Cottage in the last few years.

Thanks to the Events Planning

Team (Sue, Sian & Linda), there have been nights featuring Indian, Chinese, Italian and British Cuisine all of an incredibly high standard.

Apart from these themed nights the Club has hosted a whole series of coffee mornings, afternoon teas and BBQs with another one planned for July 15 featured in the newsletter.
