Lennon: Graham has right attitude

-

NEIL LENNON has praised Brian Graham’s attitude after his latest signing opted to step down to the Championship to join Hibernian.

Lennon is today expected to hold talks with former Motherwell full-back Tom Hateley as he continues to revamp the squad he inherited from predecessor Alan Stubbs in the summer.

Hateley is a free agent after this summer turning down a new deal at Polish side Slask Wroclaw, where he moved in January 2014 following a spell with Tranmere Rovers.

Lennon is known to be keen on cover for skipper David Gray at right-back, whilst the 26-year-old would also offer options in midfield.

Should Hateley sign, he will become Lennon’s fifth new recruit following the capture of keeper Ofir Marciano, attacker Andrew Shinnie and strikers Grant Holt and Brian Graham.

And Graham, who left Ross County to pen a two-year deal on Saturday morning before making his debut hours later in the 2-0 victory over St Mirren, has been tipped for success by Lennon.

He said: “Very much like Grant [Holt], Brian will bring a physical presence.

“And he wanted to come here, so he’s actually made the step down, and that speaks volumes for his attitude of wanting to do well here.

“He’s only been in the door briefly but there’s plenty to come from both [him and Shinnie], because Shinnie is class.”
