Family love and miss you, Scott.Pleasecomehome

- By STACEY MULLEN

THE dad of a missing teenager has issued a plea for him to come home while cops continue to search for him.

Scott Diver vanished from his home in Clydebank’s Second Avenue at around 2.45pm on Saturday, September 17, and he has not been seen since.

During a press conference yesterday at Clydebank Police Station, his heartbroken family – including dad Scott and aunt Sharyn McHugh – made an appeal for the 16-year-old to come home.

His dad pleaded: “Scotty, we love and miss you and want you home.”

The teenager, who is originally from the Isle of Man and previously stayed with his mother, moved to the West Dunbartonshire town in 2013 to live with his father.

His dad added: “Scotty, if you see this please get in touch. You are not in any trouble we just want you home or at least let us know you’re safe.

“All the family are missing you especially me and Nana and your family in the Isle of Man.

“Can I ask anyone who might be helping Scott stay away from home to remember he relies on daily medication which he hasn’t had for at least 10 days.

“You can contact us on the Missing Person’s text service on 116 000 through phone or text even if you have no credit.”

Since Scott was reported missing by the family, Police Scotland have launched a large-scale operation to find him. Inspector John Mullen, who is one of the leading officers on the case, advised that the force’s support unit containing officers with specialist skills for missing people searches have been brought in.

Their focus has been on fields and large derelict areas and the Old Kilpatrick Hills, a local spot popular with hillwalkers, was also searched because the teenager enjoys camping.

Police Scotland’s helicopter has been deployed while officers are also monitoring social media closely.

Inspector Mullen said: “Like any teenager social media seems be part of his life.

“Social media is part of a missing person inquiry we have got information from it, and we continue to view it.”

Leads acquired from a stop-and-search exercise on Saturday are still being chased by officers who questioned motorists and around 1,000 people.

Police are urging anyone who knows where he is to call them on 101 or contact on dedicated e-mail address scottdiverinquiry@scotland. pnn.police.uk
