King: Win could start reversal of fortunes

- By KIERAN PORTER

INVERNESS winger Billy King claims a William Hill Scottish Cup tie at Celtic Park could be the ideal way to revive their fortunes.

Caley Thistle have only won once in 14 games - a 2-1 victory at Elgin in the fourth round – while Celtic have won 28 out of 29 domestic matches this season.

But such contrasting records serve to take all the pressure off the Ladbrokes Premiership bottom club and give them a break from the pressures of fighting relegation.

And King insists they could again prove to be Celtic’s bogey team having taken two points off them in September.

“I think it’s a good game,” the on-loan Hearts player said. “It’s a massive fixture for us, one that could kickstart our good form.

“We’ve really got nothing to lose so we’ll go there with confidence and try to take something from the game.

“It’s quite an achievement for Celtic to have gone this far without getting beaten, and as the only team to take points off them we go into it with confidence.

“We just need to go in with nothing to lose and try to win the game.”

King scored in the 2-2 draw between the teams in the Highlands.

“It’s my only goal so far in the league this season,” the 22-year-old said. “We played really well for 45 minutes and I did well personally too.

“The two games we’ve played against Celtic we’ve done really well so we’ll go into that game and be confident.

“It’s there to play for. People are expecting Celtic to win. We’ve got nothing to lose so we can go there with confidence and just go and express ourselves.

“We’re not expected to win but we’re going to put on a really good game.”
