Kiernan’s staying put despite fan flare-up...

- By CHRIS JACK

ROB KIERNAN insists he isn’t considering his Ibrox future after a bust-up with Rangers fans last weekend.

The defender was involved in an incident with supporters at half-time during the 1-1 draw with Ross County.

Kiernan was dropped from the Gers squad that were held for the third time this term by the Staggies as the Light Blues slipped to third spot in the Premiership standings.

But the 26-year-old is determined to prove the doubters wrong as he looks to win back his starting spot against Morton on Sunday.

He said: “I would like to have my say on it because I feel the media up here come up with stories now and again and I would like to iron that all out.

“I love being here, I love being a Rangers player and I am desperate to see the club move forward.

“We are going through a bit of a tough stage at the minute in terms of results but those headlines aren’t true, I would say prove it because I can give my own account of things here.

“Of course I see my future here, I love being here, I want to be here for many years to come and I want to see us get better.

“I know myself and my team-mates have a responsibility to do that and I’m hungry to do that.

“There is obviously a lot of frustration in the crowd and you can hear that at half-time and full-time.

“Fans get frustrated and obviously I was a target that day but that was a minority of our fans because the fans have been brilliant and have backed us.

“We share their frustration so we are trying to do this together rather than have split differences and split opinions, we are all in the same boat and we are all trying to get to the same target.”
