Copsteamin major hunt for missing joiner

- By STACEY MULLEN Crime Reporter

A DEDICATED team of cops have been handed the task of finding a missing Clydebank joiner who was last seen almost two months ago.

Robert Dolan was officially reported missing to police on Tuesday, February 7.

But the 50-year-old was last seen in in Craigielea Road, Duntocher at around 4.30pm on Wednesday, December 28.

Inspector David Quinn, Clydebank Police Station, said: “It’s been nearly seven weeks now since Robert was last seen.

“Other than a message via social media to a family member at the beginning of January, and an unconfirmed sighting of him in a pub in Ayr on January 14, no one has seen or heard from him.

“A dedicated enquiry team has been set up at Dumbarton Police Office and specialist officers are supporting divisional officers in the search for Robert.

“He has never been missing before.”

Insp Quinn said Robert, a join- er, usually “keeps himself to himself”.

He said that when he went out he tended to keep in the Duntocher and Hardgate areas.

He added: “If he does travel outwith t here he uses public transport.

“As a joiner he has worked throughout Scotland but it is not thought that he has gone anywhere for work at the moment.

“It is unlike Robert to disappear for this length of time without making contact with friends and family and as time passes, there is mounting concern for his wellbeing.

“I would ask anyone with information on Robert’s whereabouts, or indeed Robert himself, to contact the Enquiry Team at Dumbarton Police Office through 101.”

Robert is described as white, five feet eight i n height, and of slim build with short grey hair.

It is not known what he was wearing when he was last seen.
