Oud Metha Bridge looks ‘special’ for Atzeni at Lingfield
OUD METHA BRIDGE represents our ‘Saturdayspecial’ in the nine-runner Maiden Stakes over a mile of Lingfield polytrack; form is way superior and, significantly for betting purposes, Andrea Atzeni has been booked.
Jockeyship is so important, I’ve mentioned it throughout my career as a serious pundit and results prove consistent reward comes from being associated with top trainers and jockeys. If you can’t beat ‘em, join them!
Atzeni is certainly at the top of his game, recognised as ‘Grade One’ in International circles and this ‘pocket rocket’ has been making hay in classic races.
Although Oud Metha Bridge hasn’t been out since making an eye-catching second start in a fast-run seven furlongs dash on Chelmsford ‘poly’ 153 days ago, reports suggest Newmarketbased Ed Dunlop has been delighted with this Helmet colt.
Fulham is expected score in the Maiden Stakes over 12 furlongs of Wolverhampton tapeta tonight.
Sixteen days ago Robyn Brisland’s charge failed by a neck to beat Lunch and make a winning debut in a similar race around Lingfield; fourth, just over three lengths away was Pinnata, also racing for the first time.
We wonder why Stuart Williams would want to attempt a reversal of placings, he’s shrewd, not a man to be underestimated and this is two furlongs further!
For what it’s worth Fulham was a 20/1 chance, obviously unconsidered, whereas Pinnata finished a well-backed 9/2 chance; heavily-supported, Masonic, 6/4 favourite, is trained by Brisland! Alan King has declared both
Fidux and Master Blueyes for the Grade Two, £30,000 Adonis 4-y-o Hurdle over two miles of ‘good to soft’ Kempton; number one stable jockey, Wayne Hutchinson, prefers the latter.
Wayne was aboard Fidux when fourth to Forth Bridge in a similar race at Musselburgh three weeks ago, best form on show, by miles. He can’t ride them both and must have been more smitten with Master Blueyes, unchallenged winner by 20 lengths at Ludlow last time out.
I’ll bet he’s wrong!
