Pavilion ‘should be family-friendly’

-

KIRSTY Rose was seeing Mr Tumble with her husband William and their son Brodie aged two.

She said: “We are seeing a show which is meant for these spewy, screaming toddlers and so the theatre’s got to accept they’re going to spew and scream. The kids absolutely adore the man they are going to see perform today and to stop them going would be a travesty.”

Janice Caldwell, 39, said: “I think it needs to be more family-friendly to encourage children to come to the theatre. I think the policy is quite prohibitive.”

Chemistry graduate Craig Barratt, 32, who has an 18-month-old child, sympathised with the policy.

He said: “I think they have got to protect the other parents who come in and spend money and they have probably got a lot of complaints. They would not have acted otherwise.”

Graeme Sanderson, 36, a field support engineer from Coatbridge, attended with wife Nicola and children Zoe, 1, and Aimee, 6.

He said: “I’m not impressed with it. If a baby is going to be sick it’s not the end of the world. And to put on a kids’ show and then for a kid not be allowed to be a kid is a bit contradictory.”

Sarah and Dan Wray, 31, from Springboig took nine-month-old Matthew.

Dan said: “It’s a bit of a shame, really. Children are children and you can’t really control that. I think they should be allowed to be kids.”
