SCALES OF JUSTICE Drunken brawl lands dad and son in dock

-

THE drunken antics of a father and son left them both in the dock at Glasgow Sheriff Court.

David Logan, 38, of Bowhouse Rise, Irvine, and his son Taylor Logan, 18, of Pennyburn, Kilwinning, were drinking at the Beerhouse in Central Station on October 23, last year, when their behaviour got out of hand.

Police officers on duty in the station were alerted to the pair scuffling with security staff who were attempting to remove them.

After cops intervened, David Logan refused to leave, forcing them to actively remove him.

Unhappy about being chucked out, 38-year-old re-entered and started another fight with the bouncers.

After further officers attended the scene to provide backup, Taylor Logan, was placed under arrest and was being transported to the local police station.

During this time, he ran towards officers, collided with them and attempted to free their grasp.

He assaulted one of the police officers on the scene by striking him on the head.

David Logan also resisted arrest and pushed an officer on the body.

The pair’s defence agent told the court they had both been consuming alcohol throughout the day and were shocked when staff refused to serve them any more.

Taylor, who had been at the Old Firm game, narrowly avoided receiving a football banning order and was ordered to pay £800. Dad, David, was asked to pay £400.
