Robbo: I’ll leave it late on Moult fitness call

- By SCOTT MULLEN

STEPHEN ROBINSON will give Louis Moult every chance to make today’s crunch Partick Thistle clash after missing out midweek.

The Motherwell striker sat out the 0-0 draw with Hamilton Accies due to an ankle injury and is in a race against time to be fit for this afternoon’s trip to Firhill.

His knock was picked up in the point earned at Ibrox last weekend his goal, along with his link up play with Scott McDonald and Ryan Bowman, was a major highlight of the 1-1 stalemate.

“I think you saw how much we missed Louis the other night,” said the Fir Park boss. “I think we would’ve won the game 1-0 if he’d been in the team.

“He’s a big part of what we do and we’re desperate to get him back. We’ll give him every chance for Saturday and if necessary we’ll leave it as a last-minute decision.

Looking ahead to a pivotal game that could see Motherwell pull seven points clear of bottom, Robinson added: “I can have no complaints about the support we’re getting.

“What I’ve said to the players is ‘give the fans something to back you with.’

“Running about, giving absolutely everything, and putting your head and body on the line – that’s what the fans want to see from the players.

“If they see your heart and desire and appreciate you should have more points for your workrate, then they’ll get behind you.”
