TALKING CELTIC

-

gest they are about to fall at the final hurdle now.

Only six league matches remain for the Northern Irishman and has relentless side. As well as that, one, very possibly two, William Hill Scottish Cup games stand between them and the invincible tag the 55,000odd inside a sun-kissed Celtic Park on Saturday have craved since this mesmeric season got underway just eight months ago.

Rodgers, who laughed off his hand gesture in the wake of this comprehensive 3-1 win over Kilmarnock to a Green Brigade singing about 10-in-arow, said not going all term without losing a game against Scottish opposition wouldn’t be too much of a disappointment at this stage of the game.

Whether you believe him or not, it’s clear from speaking to Scott Sinclair, one of the front runners for Celtic’s player of the season, that getting to that finish line with their impeccable record intact – and therefore a treble in their hipper – is now in their sights.

“I definitely think it is not too far off,” said the 28-yearold. “But we have got to take every game as it comes.

“The way we played today was great, with everybody moving around, switching positions. The way we are getting on the ball and creating chances. If we maintain that we are going to be hard to beat.”

You don’t need to be Taggart to crack the case of just why Celtic are the dominant beast that nobody has been able to tame this season. And Sinclair knows him only too well.

RODGERS has rejuvenated a Celtic side that sleepwalked to a fifth top-flight title in a row a year ago.

It is sometimes difficult to believe that, barring really Sinclair and Moussa Dembele, it is pretty much the same group of players who are rampaging out of sight in the Premiership.

With that in mind, it comes as no surprise the players filling a buoyant Celtic home dressing room are delighted their leader has now penned a new fouryear deal with his boyhood heroes.

“It is great obviously that the manager has secured his future,” said Sinclair, who had previously worked with the Northern Irishman at Chelsea and Swansea. “We know his affinity with the club.

“What he has been doing is a massive achievement and hopefully he just keep on doing what he has been doing.

“To be honest I think [him signing a new deal] will attract a lot of other players - especially coming from down south.

“I think people will look up here, look at the style we play, how we win games and I think it will be great for other players
