SCALES OF JUSTICE Boy, 13, spat at in row over playing Xbox

- By COURT REPORTER

A MAN assaulted a teenage boy over an argument about how often he played the Xbox.

David Sinclair was looking after the 13-year-old boy on February 16, 2016, when he flew into a drunken rage.

The 36-year-old became aggressive and abusive and spat at the youngster after he tried to stop him from playing the games console.

He began calling the teen names including “specky” and “tosser” and pushed him when he attempted to leave. After finding out what was going on, the teenager’s mother, who was not in the house at the time, contacted Sinclair’s parents and asked them to go round.

When they arrived, the Rutherglen man became aggressive to- wards his parents and told them to “f*** off”.

He punched his step-father repeatedly on the head, threatened to “f****** kill” him and pushed his mum on the body before jumping out of an open window.

Sinclair, off Kingsbridge Drive, appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court after pleading guilty to assaulting the teenager, his mother and step- father, and acting in a threatening and abusive manner.

His defence agent told the court that there had been an ongoing disagreement regarding how often the teenager played Xbox and that his client accepts that his behaviour was unacceptable. Sinclair was ordered to carry out 200 hours unpaid work and was banned from contacting the teenager.
