SCALES OF JUSTICE Woman in dock over assault on girl, 13

-

A CASTLEMILK woman was in the dock at Glasgow Sheriff Court after pleading guilty to several offences including the assault of 13-year-old girl.

Paula McDowall, 34, appeared at the city court for sentencing for three separate offences.

She admitted she assaulted the girl at a public footpath opposite Castlemilk Drive on August 1, last year. She seized the girl’s clothing, repeatedly punched her on the the head, and scratched her on the face and body.

In a separate charge on the same day, she admitted behaving in an abusive or aggressive manner at McDonald’s in Dougrie Drive, Castlemilk.

She accepted that she did shout, swear and behave in an aggressive manner at the fast food restaurant.

A third charge, which McDowall also plead guilty to, was the breach of a non-harassment order.

She was subject to the order at Glasgow Sheriff Court on October 14, last year.

The order stated she must stay away from a woman. She, however, breached the order, and did approach and contact the woman on November 6.

McDowall’s defence agent said his client deeply regretted her behaviour and had very little recollection over what happened.

Sentence was deferred on McDowall, of Blaeloch Avenue, on October 11.
